California Indoor-Outdoor Lifestyle for the Modern Family.
This Manhattan Beach remodel gave this home a whole new look while maintaining its character.
Maximized space plan
Primary Suite addition
Front Facade makeover
What started as a modest 1950s Manhattan Beach bungalow became a home that feels entirely different without losing its original charm.
The project included a new floor plan, a larger kitchen, the addition of a primary suite, and a complete exterior renovation. By removing barriers between the kitchen, living, and family rooms, the home now feels open, connected, and filled with natural light. Large openings to the backyard make it easy to move between indoor and outdoor spaces, whether it's a quiet morning at home or a gathering with friends and family.
At the rear of the house, the primary suite was expanded and updated to take full advantage of the backyard setting. A large sliding glass door creates a direct connection to the outdoor living area, making the backyard feel like a natural extension of the suite.
From the street, the transformation is just as dramatic. A new Dutch door, welcoming front porch, and flagstone walkway give the home a fresh presence while maintaining the warmth and character that make Manhattan Beach bungalows so appealing.
The result is a home that feels brighter, more spacious, and better suited to the way this family lives today.
