A Timeless Primary Bath

After completing the kitchen, powder room and stair renovation in the first phase of this Manhattan Beach home, we were thrilled to return for Phase 2: the Primary Bath.

The goal was to create a space that felt beautiful and elevated today, while thoughtfully planning for the years ahead. Aging-in-place considerations were incorporated throughout the design without allowing them to define the look of the room. An accessible vanity is cleverly concealed within the custom cabinetry, while a spacious shower with integrated bench, handheld shower and grab bars adds comfort and functionality.

The design was inspired by the stunning Moonlight Blue quartzite we discovered on a trip to the slab yard. We warmed the stone’s cool tones with natural wood cabinetry and paired it with timeless polished nickel fixtures and hardware, one of our clients favorite details.

A true labor of love was the custom arched door designed specifically for the space and stained to match the cabinetry.

The finished Primary Bath feels calm and considered on its own yet cohesive with the rest of the home. It’s a reminder that designing for the future doesn’t have to look clinical, and building in phases doesn’t have to compromise cohesion.
