Architectural Addition

Yes, You Heard That Right. A Catio.

This addition was designed with a very specific client in mind: the cats. The goal was to create a dedicated, enclosed patio where they could enjoy fresh air, sunshine and the outdoors safely, without sacrificing the design of the home.

We maximized the floor space and introduced as much glazing as possible, wrapping the addition with floor-to-ceiling windows. Operable awning windows provide plenty of fresh air while keeping the space secure and comfortable for its four-legged residents.

A vaulted ceiling makes the addition feel open and airy, while the saturated blue walls and ceiling bring a playful personality to a space that was never meant to take itself too seriously.

Built Around the Cats

From climbing structures and lounging areas to a cat exercise wheel, every inch was planned around how the space would actually be used. Durable decking, expansive windows and multiple perches give the cats plenty of room to roam, climb and watch the neighborhood.

The result is part patio, part playroom and completely theirs.
