A Thoughtfully Modern Midcentury Home

This remodel was all about balance—refreshing a well-loved home without losing its sense of home. Our clients wanted a design and layout that better suited their current tastes and lifestyle, but it still needed to feel like the place their family had cherished for years.

We honored that balance by putting an updated twist on the home’s original Mid-Century design. An original metal room divider, now reimagined as a sculptural art piece that headlines the main hall and tucked between the kitchen, living room, and outdoors; a custom built-in buffet that seamlessly blends simplicity and functionality; serving as the perfect place to dish up their secret family gumbo recipe (we’ve had it—and no, we’re not sharing).

Some standout features? A custom display for their record collection and a relocated and redesigned bar turns a previously unused living room into what we call the speakeasy. We redesigned the fireplace within the home’s signature circular floor plan—offering a modern take on a familiar layout.
