This Manhattan Beach couple enjoys cooking together, each with unique needs. For one, we lowered the island to comfortably suit their height, creating a natural gathering and prep space that feels effortless. Along the perimeter, the other has their own zone complete with a prep sink, allowing them to cook side by side without ever feeling crowded.

To keep the space feeling calm and cohesive, the refrigerator and freezer are hidden in plain sight disguised as cabinetry. An appliance garage tucks away everyday essentials while keeping them within easy reach, so the countertops remain clean and intentional.

A design trend we believe is here to stay is the full height stone backsplash. It wraps the room in soft movement and warmth, adding depth without the distraction of grout lines. Our favorite moment is the lighted range wall.

By replacing the existing windows with a higher sill height, we gained generous storage and uninterrupted counter space.

The result is a kitchen that feels tailored, timeless, and completely in tune with the way this family lives
