5 Things You Need to Know Before Remodeling Your Kitchen

Remodeling a Kitchen? 5 Things to Keep in Mind

If you are thinking about giving your home a new look, starting in the kitchen is a great place to begin! In many households the kitchen is the center spot for gatherings. Everything from breakfast in the morning to dinner in the evening, you want your kitchen to be functional for all your needs.

Remodeling a kitchen can be very overwhelming, especially if you don’t have any ideas to leverage from. A kitchen remodel does not have to be extremely elaborate. Keeping your family’s needs in mind while being creative will allow you to execute your kitchen remodel easier than you realize!

NEEDS

Items in your kitchen that are on the verge of breaking should obviously be on the top of your list to replace. If there are appliances, furniture or lights that no longer have functional use- you strong consider replacing them.

 WANTS

If you have a functional dishwasher but would like a newer model, this particular item should be added to your want list. It shouldn’t necessarily be taken off our list though. Perhaps towards the end of your project you can afford a new dishwasher, but not the original model you picked out.

 BUDGET

Setting a budget at the beginning of your remodel will help tremendously. Give yourself some wiggle room with the budget too. That way if there is an unexpected cost half way through the remodel you will not be out of luck. Or if you stay within the allotted budget throughout the entire project, you can start tackling some of the items on your ‘Want’ list.

 ORGANIZATION

Storage and organization is important for a kitchen. Before starting the remodel, consider studying the area and places you can add cabinets to storage unnecessary items that were originally on the counter-tops.

 DIFFICULTY

It’s very easy to get too deep into a project and feel overwhelmed quickly. Professional remodelers can not only give you advice throughout the process but can help you create your dream kitchen within budget. And while the remodel is going on help you feel at ease and eliminate the time you would spend worrying about the remodel

About six years ago, I started creating content on the side as a way to teach strategy and tools to people who wanted to build their brands themselves. That side project now makes up 80% of what I do, and it has given me hands-on experience with hundreds of tools, partnerships with over 150 brands including Adobe, and a clear sense of what actually works for small businesses.

I have delivered keynote speeches on five continents, written AI for Small Business, and created Brandmasters, a private membership community for small business owners serious about their brand.

I am not just someone who talks about this stuff. I live it, test it, and teach it every day.
