Professional Designations in the Remodeling Industry
Our company has always found it important to take an active leadership role in our industry as well as our community. Our president, Bill Simone, has served as President of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Los Angeles Remodelers Council, and Vice President of the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Southern California.
NAHB was founded in 1942 to serve the housing industry, both builders and the public. The BIA is another national organization recognized for its work in providing safe and affordable homes.
Our vice-president of production, Randy Ricciotti, currently sits on the national board of directors for the National Association of Home Builders Remodelers Council.
In addition, Custom Design & Construction is the only remodeling firm in Los Angeles to carry the prestigious designations of Certified Green Builder, Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), and Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS).
As a Certified Green Builder, we provide you with beautiful, first-class renovations, lower your carbon footprint, conserve our natural resources, and create a more healthful living environment. You may even qualify for a tax credit. Best of all, "going green" incurs no additional cost as compared to conventional building.
Attaining Certified Graduate Remodeler status is considered by many to be the most prestigious designation in the remodeling industry, the equivalent of a remodeling Ph.D. Working with a Certified Graduate Remodeler ensures an experienced professional with a proven track record. Just as importantly, our CGR designation assures you that we have met strict standards of business practice, successfully completed important educational requirements, and maintain a commitment to continuing education. Finally, as a CGR, we pledge to uphold an unequivocal code of ethics.
Likewise, working with a Certified Aging in Place Specialist provides important advantages for the growing number of maturing consumers who need increased access and maneuverability in their homes. As a Certified Aging In Place Specialist, we’ve been expertly trained in the unique needs of older adults as well as the products and home modifications that provide these clients with the best solutions for everyday living.
When researching remodeling companies to complete work in your home, make sure you look into which professional designations they hold and their involvement in industry leading associations. Serving in leadership positions in organizations like NAHB and BIA are positive indicators of a reliable company.
