Bill Simone, and his wife Jana, launched Custom Design & Construction in 1986 out of their first condo in Venice, California. 2 years later, CD&C became a California corporation in 1988. By 1989, the company needed a dedicated corporate office. They selected a space in west Los Angeles off of Olympic Boulevard where the company would continue to grow for the next 25 years. 10 years after launching, in 1998, CD&C earned a spot on Qualified Remodeler Magazine’s Top 500 list. They have remained on that list every year since. 2001 was a big year for Custom Design & Construction as they were named to Remodeling Magazine’s Big 50 class and earned Chrysalis California and National Contractor of the Year awards. In 2002 Professional Remodeler Magazine named CD&C to its 101 Best Companies to Work For in the Remodeling Industry list. Custom Design & Construction earned the Market Leader Benchmark award in 2004 and was then named Chrysalis California Contractor of the Year in 2005. In 2006 the Building Industry Association presented CD&C President, Bill Simone, with the first ever Industry Icon award. 2011 was another big year for Custom Design & Construction as they were appointed to the Steering Committee of Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies Remodeling Futures Board. That same year, CD&C left the west side for the South Bay, opening a 2,500 square foot state-of-the-art Design Center in El Segundo. Two years later, President Bill Simone was appointed to the Advisory Board of Professional Remodeler Magazine and in 2014 he was named the Fred Case Entrepreneur of the Year.
"Our remodeling project was perfection from beginning to end. The designers included everything we wanted, they offered a selection of materials that made choosing final products very easy, the contract was clear and followed to the letter in every way during construction, the craftsmanship is outstanding and we are thoroughly enjoying our new master bath!"
